Holy Micro! LLC to Showcase Advanced Safety Systems and Host GA Seminar at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026

Company will address takeoff-phase safety and the “impossible turn” at Hangar C, Booths 3149 & 3150

Holy Micro! LLC, a Syracuse, New York-based manufacturer of general aviation safety electronics, will exhibit at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026. The event takes place July 20–26 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Throughout the week-long convention, Holy Micro! will exhibit its product lineup at Hangar C, Booths 3149 and 3150.

Tackling the “Impossible Turn” and Takeoff Safety

The company’s AirVenture presence follows renewed industry attention on takeoff-phase safety following the NTSB’s final report on the October 2023 accident in Lake Placid, New York, that killed Richard McSpadden, senior vice president of the AOPA Air Safety Institute, and former NFL player Russ Francis. The NTSB determined the accident’s primary cause was a failure to complete weight-and-balance calculations, which left the aircraft operating outside its forward center-of-gravity limit; contributing factors included a partial loss of engine power during takeoff and climb, and high density altitude, which the board said reduced climb performance. An aggressive maneuver to return to the airport led the aircraft to exceed its critical angle of attack and enter an unrecoverable aerodynamic stall.

The accident has drawn renewed attention to the so-called “impossible turn,” in which a pilot attempts to return to the runway following an engine problem shortly after takeoff. Industry safety experts, including AOPA, generally advise against attempting a turnback below roughly 500 feet AGL absent specific training and preparation for the maneuver. Holy Micro! notes that most existing height-advisory systems provide audible callouts during landing but remain silent during takeoff and initial climb — the phase in which the impossible-turn decision must be made, often within seconds and with limited altitude margin.

The company positions two of its products as addressing that gap: the SkyVoice Alert 500, which provides continuous audible height call-outs from takeoff through climb-out, and the Absolute AoA system, which provides continuous angle-of-attack data rather than a warning limited to the immediate approach to stall.

Kunnumpurath will present a seminar titled “Next-Gen Cockpits & Safer Skies: Leveraging New Tech for GA Safety” in the AOPA Program Pavilion Seminar Room on Saturday, July 25, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. The session is listed in EAA and AOPA’s published AirVenture seminar schedule.

The presentation will cover a range of emerging general aviation technologies rather than a single product, including centimeter-accurate ground tracking systems intended to reduce runway and taxiway incursions, non-invasive wireless sensors for monitoring airframe stress and propeller balance, and 3D spatial awareness systems positioned as an alternative to traditional synthetic vision. Kunnumpurath is also expected to discuss touchless fuel-tracking systems, cockpit audio systems with automatic noise filtering, and tools for automated ATIS transcription and taxi-error alerting.

“The next step forward in GA safety isn’t necessarily another screen in the panel,” Kunnumpurath said. “It’s giving pilots better information, in a form they can act on immediately, during the phases of flight where workload is highest.”
