Holy Micro! Absolute AoA & Connectivity Upgrades: Precision Safety for Your Cockpit

We are excited to share some major updates from Holy Micro! LLC that are set to redefine how we manage safety and situational awareness in the cockpit. While many of you are familiar with our SkyVoice line, we’ve officially introduced the FAA-Approved Absolute AoA System alongside two game-changing hardware additions: the Companion Display and the HM Mixer Amp.

The Absolute AoA System: Beyond the Stall Warning

Unlike traditional single-sensor systems that only scream at you when you’re about to stall, the Absolute AoA is a “NewGen” solution designed for every phase of flight—takeoff, climb, cruise, and landing.

  • Efficient Setup: Installation is typically completed in 3–4 hours using existing inspection panels. Communication between the AoA Sensor Unit and CPU can be wired or Wi-Fi, based on user preference. Flexible power options allow the system to draw power from wing lights or navigation lights.
  • Complex Wing Solution: An optional Flap Scanner Pod addresses mounting challenges near the flap area, particularly in twin-engine and complex-wing aircraft. This separate sensor housing can be installed away from the main AoA probe and is available as an add-on.
  • Cockpit Integration: 2.8-inch panel or dash-mounted IPS touch displays feature Lift Reserve Remaining, providing immediate visual feedback on the aerodynamic margin above stall.
  • Simplified Calibration: One-point calibration allows setup in just three minutes -start in cruise, stop at stall warning.
  • Audio Alerts: The system provides selectable audio tones or voice announcements. Tones use distinct pulse patterns to indicate different phases of flight, aligned with Navy and Air Force standards. Audio output is available via wired connection or Bluetooth, based on user preference.
  • Reference Points: Custom labels allow pilots to mark AoA values for speeds such as Vx and Vy.
  • System Management: A 6.5-inch HMI supports setup, connectivity, and Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates.

The Companion Display: Safety in Every Sightline

It is an auxiliary unit providing real-time Angle of Attack information at additional cockpit locations. Featuring the same intuitive interface as the primary Absolute AoA display, it ensures that critical flight-safety information is accessible to everyone on board. Plug-and-play integration makes it a practical situational-awareness upgrade, particularly in larger cockpits or training environments.

The HM Mixer Amp: Solving Cockpit Connectivity

Many aircraft face the challenge of having no free audio input ports to support new safety equipment. The HM Mixer Amp solves this by acting as a central hub, mixing differential audio from SkyVoice Alert and Absolute AOA plus a Bluetooth source into a single output.

This combined signal can be routed into a single existing audio panel port for headset alerts, or use the integrated power amplifier to drive a dedicated 5W speaker if no ports are available. Engineered for noise immunity and rugged GA environments, it ensures your critical alerts are heard clearly, regardless of your aircraft’s current panel configuration.

4. Upgraded SkyVoice Systems

Both the SkyVoice Alert 500 and the Glassy Guide 400 (for seaplanes/amphibians) now feature:

  • Advanced Mode: Includes more reminders on AGL, MSL, and run-time.
  • Enhanced Connectivity: Improved smartphone-like Bluetooth pairing and refined software algorithms for smoother altitude readings.
  • TheSkyVoice Alert 500 series features a 1,000-ft version currently in development.

Coming to SUN ‘n FUN? We’d love to show you these units in person! Stop by Hangar B, Booths 27 & 28 to see the HolyMicro/SkyVoice/Absolute AoA
