Why Absolute AoA System?

Angle of Attack (AoA) is a critical parameter for maintaining safe flight operations across all phases, yet many traditional systems fail to provide accurate and consistent readings beyond stall warnings. The Absolute AoA System overcomes these limitations by using a normalized pressure ratio system with multiple sensors, ensuring reliable AoA indications regardless of density altitude, loading conditions, or flap settings.

Unlike conventional pressure differential systems that lose accuracy outside of stall conditions, the Absolute AoA System delivers precise AoA readings for V-speeds such as Vx, Vy and Best Glide. Its LiDAR-integrated probe automatically detects flap position without requiring physical connections, ensuring accurate AoA data even during approach and landing.

With a streamlined installation process and advanced digital displays, the Absolute AoA System enhances pilot situational awareness and safety by offering real-time, highly accurate AoA information.

Highlights of the Absolute AoA System

Easy Installation – Quick installation using WiFi/Bluetooth, no long tubes and minimal wiring or a wired version, typically completed in 3–4 hours using existing inspection panels.

Reliable Connectivity – Choose between WiFi (wireless) or a wired connection for sensor-to-processor communication.

Flexible Power Options – With wireless connection you can take power from your wing lights or navigation lights, reducing installation time.

Multiple Display Options – Available in 2.8-inch and bar-style touch displays for customizable visual feedback.

Dedicated HMI Calibration – A 6.5-inch digital HMI interface simplifies setup and AoA calibration.

Absolute AoA Probe – Designed for installation under the inspection plate. Made from high-quality 6061 aluminum, it’s built for precision and durability.

Easy One-Point Calibration – Simplify Absolute AoA setup—press Start in cruise, Stop at stall warning. Precise data in just 3 minutes.

Custom Audio Tones - 400 Hz and 1600 Hz and pulse rates to clearly indicate different phases of flight, similar to Navy and Air Force standards.

Lift Reserve Display - Prominently shows Lift Reserve Remaining for immediate, visual feedback on the aerodynamic margin above stall.

Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates - Easily perform all future software updates and system enhancements wirelessly, to ensure the latest features and firmware.

Solution for Flap Position Sensing: The New AoA Flap Scanner Pod : To solve mounting challenges near the flap area—especially for twin-engine aircraft—we created the AoA Flap Scanner Pod —a durable, aircraft-quality aluminum housing that mounts separately from the main AOA probe—to overcome challenge of finding a suitable mounting location near the flap area for LiDAR flap position detection, now available as an optional add-on.

Features of the Absolute AoA System

Multi-Sensor Pressure System

Utilizes four airflow ports with multiple pressure sensors for accurate AoA readings in all flight phases

Flap Position Auto-Detection

LiDAR technology detects flap position without physical connections to the flap system.

Advanced Processor Integration

Sensor electronics mount directly above the inspection plate, with the processor installed behind the instrument panel.

True Normalized Pressure Ratio System

Provides highly accurate, non-linear AoA data unaffected by density altitude, loading conditions, or flap deployment.

Custom Audio Tones

The system includes 400 Hz and 1600 Hz frequencies and pulse rates to clearly indicate different phases of flight, such as approach and critical AOA warnings, similar to Navy and Air Force standards.

Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates

For effortless maintenance and future enhancements, the system supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. You can easily perform all future software updates and system enhancements wirelessly, ensuring your AOA system always runs the latest features and firmware.

Wired or Wireless Communication

Connect the sensor electronics to the processor via WiFi or a wired connection based on your preference.

Accurate Across All V-Speeds

Unlike pressure differential systems, the Absolute AoA System ensures linear and precise AoA indications beyond just stall warnings.

Customizable AoA Display

Select from multiple display sizes and styles with touchscreen functionality for an intuitive interface.

Easy One-Point Calibration

This dramatically simplifies setting your Absolute Angle of Attack (AoA). While cruising, press Start, and when you hear the stall warning, press Stop. Get precision AoA data in 3 minutes, with zero hassle.

Lift Reserve Display

The display prominently features the Lift Reserve Remaining, providing pilots with intuitive, immediate visual feedback on the aerodynamic margin above stall.

Solution for Flap Position Sensing: The New AoA Flap Scanner Pod

We heard the feedback from many owners, particularly those with twin-engine aircraft, regarding the challenge of finding a suitable mounting location near the flap area for LiDAR flap position detection.

To solve this mounting constraint, we have designed and developed a dedicated solution:

AoA Flap Scanner Pod

This is a separate sensor housing crafted from aircraft-quality aluminum that can be mounted away from the main AOA probe. This pod is specifically designed to overcome placement issues on complex wing configurations.

AoA Flap Scanner Pod is ready for purchase as an optional add-on.
