Absolute Angle of Attack: True Lift, Total Safety

Angle of Attack (AoA) is critical for maintaining safe flight, but most traditional indicators are limited to fixed-point stall warnings. The Absolute AoA System solves this by using an advanced, precise normalized pressure ratio method. This technique, widely recognized as superior, provides a true, linear total lift gauge across all phases of flight.

Unlike conventional pressure differential systems that rapidly lose accuracy outside of stall conditions, the Absolute AoA System ensures dependable, precise readings regardless of density altitude, aircraft loading, or flap settings. This means you get accurate AoA indications for critical performance speeds, including Vx, Vy, and Best Glide.

By providing a precise performance instrument, the Absolute AoA eliminates the need for useless speed memory drills. You can truly fly the wing, not the speed.

Advanced Technology & Pilot Focus

The system is designed as a powerful Single Pilot Resource Management (SRM) tool to reduce workload and enhance safety:

Multi-Sensor Pressure System

Utilizes four airflow ports with multiple pressure sensors for accurate AoA readings in all flight phases

Flap Position Auto-Detection

LiDAR technology detects flap position without physical connections to the flap system.

Highlights of the Absolute AoA System

Easy Installation – Quick installation using WiFi/Bluetooth, no long tubes and minimal wiring or a wired version, typically completed in 3–4 hours using existing inspection panels.

Reliable Connectivity – Choose between WiFi (wireless) or a wired connection for sensor-to-processor communication.

Flexible Power Options – With wireless connection you can take power from your wing lights or navigation lights, reducing installation time.

AoA Display Options – Choose between the Absolute AoA 2.8-inch panel-mount and dash-mount IPS touch displays, both offering brilliant clarity, responsive control, and customizable AoA presentations for intuitive visual feedback. Our displays use TFT LCD IPS technology which operates on electric fields, not magnetic fields, unlike older display types. Moreover, our thick ABS plastic enclosure significantly minimizes magnetic signature. Magnetic fields from internal electronics and LED backlight are very low. To be most safe, you may maintain 6 to 12 inches of distance.

Dedicated HMI Calibration – A 6.5-inch digital HMI interface simplifies setup and AoA calibration. The HMI Phone is only required for setup and calibration.

Absolute AoA Probe – Designed for installation under the inspection plate. Made from high-quality 6061 aluminum, it’s built for precision and durability. As for probe icing, here are a few important details:
First, observe the shape of our probe and the opening for the air intake. The air intake channels have a significant slope, so water will not remain on them. Second, the anchoring screw hole in the forward position features a deep cavity. This can be used to install an appropriate heating element. Additionally, there is enough surface area to drill extra hole needed for most standard-sized heating elements. Please note that we do not supply heating elements as part of the kit.

Easy One-Point Calibration – Simplify Absolute AoA setup—press Start in cruise, Stop at stall warning. Precise data in just 3 minutes.

Custom Audio Tones - 400 Hz and 1600 Hz and pulse rates to clearly indicate different phases of flight, similar to Navy and Air Force standards.

Lift Reserve Display - Prominently shows Lift Reserve Remaining for immediate, visual feedback on the aerodynamic margin above stall.

Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates - Easily perform all future software updates and system enhancements wirelessly, to ensure the latest features and firmware.

Solution for Flap Position Sensing: The New AoA Flap Scanner Pod : To solve mounting challenges near the flap area—especially for twin-engine aircraft—we created the AoA Flap Scanner Pod —a durable, aircraft-quality aluminum housing that mounts separately from the main AOA probe—to overcome challenge of finding a suitable mounting location near the flap area for LiDAR flap position detection, now available as an optional add-on.
